Efforts to improve the ability of connection through the contextual approach to mathematic subject

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to test the effectiveness of mathematics learning by using constextual approach through class action research (PTK). This PTK presents findings from research on efforts to improve connection capability through Contextual approach on mathematics subjects. This research involves the seventh grade A in Junior High School 1 Maleber in the even semester of the academic year 2016-2017. The study used a description test instrument to evaluate students 'mathematical connection capabilities and to use student questionnaires to find out the students' responses to the applied learning. To find out the students' mathematical connection ability, the researcher uses Student Learning Results (HBS) based on Minimum Exhaustiveness Criteria (KKM), where the KKM used is 74. The result of classical connection ability of pretreatment students is in very less category which is about 36.36% and the end result of second and third cycle respectively is 72.72% and 87.87% ie the end of cycle two is in enough category and the end of cycle three in very good category, this shows a significant increase. Likewise the ability of mathematical connections per indicator to increase. In addition from the questionnaire results of student responses, known at the beginning of the first cycle of classical learning responses students only reached 2.48 is in the category enough while the end of the third cycle of classical response students reach 3.43 is in the category very well. From the data it can be concluded that students respond well to the application of learning with contextual approach.
