Abstract

Physical activity and lifestyle are essential for people health because daily physical activity and a healthy lifestyle will have an impact on the physical development of children. Physical activity and lifestyle of children must be considered early. The purpose of this study is to examine the level of physical activity of students. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative method, involving 48 elementary school grade 5 students, with an average age of 11 years old. The level of physical activity is obtained from the processing of the IPAQ (International Physical Activity Questionnaire) questionnaire. Before completing the questionnaire, respondents received an explanation of the questions contained in the questionnaire. The results showed that the average age of respondent was 11.2 (± 1.01) years, body height was 155.1cm (± 3.1), body weight was 38.5kg (± 6.5). The level of physical activity averaged into the low category, or with the number 502.2 (± 24.3) MET.
